Originally written for flute and organ, I have probably played Meditation more often with violin and piano.
It is appropriate for a worship service, student recital, or as a quiet moment in a professional concert, and is a favorite of Donna Elaine, two time International Flute Association competition winner.
An orchestral version (written for the Praise Symphony Orchestra, Helen Weed, conductor) is also available. c. 3 minutes long; also arranged for high school band, with optional strings.
It would be simple to adapt the orchestra or band arrangements to be played with a soloist.
