Old World Overture

Old World Overture was written for a “Meistersingers” concert. The major work was to be Beethoven’s Mass in C.
I suggested to director Brian Dehn that he include an original instrumental overture in the concert, since he was hiring a good orchestra.
He agreed and I wrote this piece using the same orchestration Beethoven used in his Mass in C:  2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2horns, 2 trumpets, timp. strings; length c. 9 min.
