1980 High School Senior Recital

In the Recital Hall of California State University, Fullerton.
Just after my high school graduation in 1980, my piano teacher, the late Leigh James Unger, arranged for me to play a recital on the new 9′ Steinway at California State University, Fullerton. I was nervous (well, excited and scared) and I practiced like never before. Many friends and family came to hear this, my first full recital.
Recently, 2019, I found the cassette tape on which the recital was recorded. I was impressed. Yes there are slips, mistakes, and hiss from the tape. But it sounded better than I remembered, with better playing than I play those pieces now!
So here it is, for better or worse, for those that want to relive my younger years. The first of the few solo recitals I have done. I’ll bet some of you reading this were there. If so, send me an email to say hi!
